The thing about doing difficult things… the reward feels bigger.

My hamstring practice has definitely improved, but that feeling of doubt, resistance, the “why am I doing this?” moment.

These days, instead of fighting it, I work with it. I stay a little longer, breathe a little steadier, and let the practice do what it’s meant to do.

And somehow, finishing with my handstand work (which is getting better every time) makes it all feel worth it.

I decided to work on this pose again.
After being consistent with my gym workout, I feel that Im getting stiffer. It was obvious because I was struggling hard to get into this pose, but it just doesnt mean I can’t get into it again, I had to really to my time to warm myself, get into few attempts of this before really going for the full pose. It’s definitely one of the pose I have been trying to work on.

Im learning more about myself as this pose does require some warm up and preparation to get into.

I was once told: the more advanced your practice becomes, the slower your sequence gets.

Back then I didn’t believe it. My ego was loud — I thought “I’m already good, why would I slow down?”

Now I get it.

These days it can take me a full 30 minutes just to work on one specific part of my body before I even start “flowing”. Not because I’m stuck… but because I’m actually listening. Building the pieces. Feeling the lines.

And that’s what makes this Handstand variation feel different, changing the hand position really change the whole sensation. Less about throwing myself upside down, more about control, patience, and quality.

Day 14 of #TwistandCompress with @cyogalife ➡️ #LegBehindTheHead / #EkaPadaSirsasana variation

Tough one. Leg-behind-the-head is already a whole practice on its own, and adding a twist takes it to another level. To rotate deeper, I needed more compression first, then reaching for the other foot with the opposite hand.

Even though one hand is supported on the floor, the balance is still surprisingly challenging here. It’s one of those shapes that looks “supported”, but asks for a lot of control and steadiness once you’re in it.

Another challenge completed.

Day 14 of #TwistandCompress with @cyogalife ➡️ #LegBehindTheHead / #EkaPadaSirsasana variation

When I first started joining challenges with @cyogalife, handstand always felt so distant. Any day that had a handstand shape in it would bring this nervous anticipation, not wanting to avoid it, but also not knowing if I could actually do it.

Somewhere along the way, that feeling changed.

Now when I see handstand in the challenge, I don’t see it as a hurdle. I feel excited. That fear and doubt has slowly turned into curiosity and enjoyment, and it’s a nice reminder that this isn’t just a “dream pose” anymore, it’s something I can actually work with.

Even with this variation, I was still able to get time upside down and control the descent, lowering the legs with awareness instead of just dropping out of it.

Day 12 or #TwistandCompress with @cyogalife ➡️ #PadangusthaDhanurasana variant

As we’re getting closer to the end of the challenge, it feels normal that the shapes get more and more demanding.

This one needs a pretty deep backbend, and also a lot of openness through the shoulders. I came into it from the regular Padangustha Dhanurasana first, then started to shift the foot and hand over towards the other shoulder.

That part is the tricky bit. It takes some manoeuvring, and honestly some time to get used to the “shift” without losing the breath or the shape.
